Vanguard Homes receives first ever WaterSense label on new home build.
Vanguard Homes, a Triangle-based company chosen as one of only 7
builders in the country to participate in the Environmental
Protection Agency's WaterSense™ pilot program for new homes, has
received the first ever WaterSense™ label on a new home. WaterSense™
labeled homes by Vanguard are designed to be at least 20 percent
more water efficient than homes currently being built under
traditional standards, saving homeowners more than 10,000 gallons of

North Carolina drought conditions improve
Many of North Carolina's western counties saw relief from the drought over the past week, according to government drought map released today.
Thanks to last week's rains, nearly half of North Carolina's 100 counties are now classified as being in a "moderate" drought. Only 19 counties, all in western North Carolina, are still classified as having "extreme" drought conditions, the worst category.
Triangle counties all remained in moderate drought category. RDU International Airport reported 32.9 inches of rain this year as of 8 p.m. Wednesday. That's nearly three inches over the average, but the region is still replenishing deficits from last year.

Japanese company Genepax unviels car that runs on Water
I would not believe it, if news would not be carried by Reuters. And
if I did not see their video coverage. Also in my experience Japanese
companies usually do not lie, and would not go public, if this was a
hoax or not a completely working unit. Company CEO Kiyoshi Hirasawa
presented their eco-friendly car that runs on nothing but water in a
test drive.
